Full job description
The East African Community Resource Centre (EACRC) is seeking a Peer Support Worker to support youth participating in Substance Use Prevention and Harm Reduction program.
This role focuses on mentoring youth, facilitating group activities, and providing one-on-one support to help youth build healthy coping skills, confidence, and resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Provide peer support and mentorship to youth participants
Assist with prevention workshops and youth group sessions
Support community outreach and youth engagement activities
Track participant attendance and engagement for program evaluation
Qualifications
Experience working with youth or community programs
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Passion for youth empowerment and community support
Assets:
Experience in mental health, harm reduction, or working with African or newcomer communities. Languages such as Amharic, Tigrinya, Somali, Swahili, or Arabic are an asset.
