Overview

Join us on March 27th, 2026, at 6 PM as we celebrate Black Resilience in a vibrant evening of connection, culture, and creativity.
The Eritrean/Ethiopian Boon/Buna (coffee) Ceremony is more than a beverage—it is a ritual of hospitality, presence, and connection passed down through generations.

At CHIC PEAS VEG, this sacred tradition is offered as a mobile, immersive cultural experience, thoughtfully curated for modern gatherings while honoring its deep cultural roots.

Led by Eritrea-born founder Naza Hasebenebi, the buna ceremony invites guests to pause, engage their senses, and experience coffee as it was meant to be shared.

The Boon/Buna (coffee) Ceremony is a live, ancestral Eritrean/Ethiopian ritual that slows the pace of modern life and fosters deep connection. It includes the roasting of green coffee beans over heat, the gentle burning of fragrant frankincense, the intentional brewing of coffee, and the serving of coffee in rounds as guests gather. Each step is designed to invite presence, mindfulness, and community, transforming coffee into a shared ritual of storytelling, heritage, and meaningful connection.

This will be followed by a beautifully guided paint session, where you’ll be warmly led on an inspiring and immersive journey of creative expression—painting side by side with others in a welcoming, uplifting, and joy-filled atmosphere.
